HotelsCombined.com goes green with CarbonFund.org
Sydney, Australia, October 05, 2007
– HotelsCombined.com, the leading hotel search and comparison site, today announced that it has offset its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org. HotelsCombined.com is offsetting carbon emissions generated by its business operations by investing in a number of carbon-reducing initiatives including renewable energy, reforestation and energy efficiency projects.
Further to this effort, HotelsCombined.com will reduce its carbon consumption levels related to its business activities by implementing recycling and energy saving schemes to limit its own environmental impact. HotelsCombined.com will also educate and encourage its visitors to becoming carbon neutral by linking travelers to Carbonfund.org, enabling them to learn more about carbon offsetting and environmentally sustainable practices. This will also provide the opportunity for its users to get involved in reducing any Co2 emissions related to their personal or household carbon footprint.
“We are proud to partner with Carbonfund.org. Considering the implications of climate change, carbon offsets through Carbonfund.org provide an effective way in which we can reduce our company carbon emissions and contribute to protecting the environment, as well as providing an environmentally friendly solution to our customers for their travel needs. We hope our carbon initiatives will raise awareness of an important issue and inspire others to do the same,” said Yury Shar, Director of HotelsCombined.com. “HotelsCombined.com remains committed to being an environmental leader in the travel community, and will continue to take proactive steps in the fight against global climate change”
