| I can't say enough good things about Hotel Le Richebourg; a wonderful hotel in a scenic location with the most helpful and accomodating staff. The hotel was recently upgraded to a four star property, and this designation is well deserved. The room itself was immaculate, with probably the most comfortable European hotel bed I have slept in. The modern furnishings fit well, and the bathroom featured a nice bathtub and separate shower. Everything looked and felt clean and comfortable. The hotel is a healthy walk to some vinyards and wine tasting rooms; I'd recommend hiring a car to more fully explore the area. The best part of our experience with Hotel Le Richebourg was a result of the wonderful staff. Being unfamiliar with this area of France, we arrived at the Nuitts St. Georges train station very late in the evening; there were no taxis and seemingly no way to get to the hotel. This was solved very quickly with a call to the hotel, which immediately sent a porter to pick us up in the hotel van within five minutes. I think this little, but important touch went above and beyond the expected level of service of most hotels (esp. in Europe) and we were extremely impressed. The only negative aspect I can think of with respect to this hotel was the breakfast. 15 Euro per person was somewhat overpriced for the selection provided, which was pretty average. Other than that, I can't recommend Hotel Le Richebourg highly enough; it was a wonderful experience, and if we ever find ourselves in that part of France again, we will make it a point to stay here again. |
